Houston`s Restaurant in Hackensack

Very disappointed. From a poor disposition of 3 of 4 or our party...2 were clients...that we couldn't be seated despite saying "we are ready to order drinks and appetizers" and being sent back to sit on a cold hearth. 4 minutes later when the party was all there we paid a 20 minute penalty. Ordered drinks only 3 of the 4 were wrong. Appetizers literally dropped on the table. "Wow you are lucky you got the last pork chop we have" parking lot is a hot mess with narrow spots and the entitled of Bergen county flaunting their faux wealth. All food sub par it could've easily been ruby Tuesdays. Obviously a chain where the clientele is driven by price "expensive must be good" instead of actual food quality. Keep it. And "seasonal" items on the menu that aren't available..they are out of season.

Came here on a friday afternoon. Party of one so i sat by the bar which is self serve seats no long wait. They have a decent variety of drinks and lunch food. I got the dins chicken sandwich which comes with buttermilk crispy chicken and baby swiss cheese and argula. I got a wine and the sandwich. Total bill came up to $36.14. 1/2 glass wine $11 and sandwich $14

Great food and excellent service. Quality all the way around. Can't really ask for much more.

My first experience at Houston's couldn't have been any better. The staff were very courteous. And the food was very delicious. I ordered the Hawaiian steak, and boy it melted in my mouth like butter. As for the atmosphere, it is a great place to take your date out to. Definitely going there again, and I highly recommend this restaurant.

Love this place for date night. We always share the spinach artichoke dip. Cocktails are really good too!

I called on a Tuesday evening and asked if they were accepting walk-ins. Thankfully they did. For a Tuesday night I was surprised that it was busy. I waited about 15 to 20 minutes to be seated. The waitress I had for the evening gave me a mediocre type of customer service. I ordered a well done steak and I got a medium well so I had to send it back. There was not much appetizers on the menu. When I decided on the grilled artichoke they had already ran out and when I wanted to order the shrimp they also ran out for the night as said by the waitress. By the way just an FYI Houston’s does not give bread prior to your meal so don’t go there starving. The steak definitely makes up for these issues on my first dining experience there. The steak was just flavorful and juicy. The mashed potatoes was delightful as well. You can taste the Parmesan they put in the mashed potatoes. I definitely recommend making a reservation to dine in this location.

Truly an outstanding restaurant. Always excellent service and perfectly prepared food. The burgers and Hawaiian steak are smokey, unique and flavorful. Deserts are big enough for a family of four to share. The loaded baked potato is a meal in itself and a perfect side to any entree. Make a reservation or be prepared to wait for a table as this place is always busy.

I love everything about Houston's! Food is always excellent, the service is the best, I love coming here. You can't go wrong with anything you order, everything is delicious. This place is always busy so it's always best to have a reservation if you can, wait times can be long but it's definitely worth the wait.

I've been coming here for many years. Always a treat. Simple menu with great food. Aesthetically upscale. Gets very busy for dinner on weekends, I suggest you make a reservation or prepare for a wait. Located in Riverside Square Mall. Currently under construction in some parts of the mall 3/26/19 - parking is fairly easy in front of restaurant.

Curbside pickup was efficient and excellent!!! Do not miss their Kale salad and veggie burger!!! Even my 9 year old loves their kale salad!!!

A little over 1.5hr to wait for the table but it was worth it. Great service paired with tasty food and drinks made for an enjoyable evening. Didn’t try the desserts this time around, which means a repeat visit is necessary.

Where do I start?! This Paramus gem is amazing. The Hawaiian ribeye is perfection and the loaded baked potato (hold the bacon) is a great partner. Caesar salad is very good, especially with extra parmesan cheese! I would pass on the guacamole as the plate is tiny, but they now have jumbo shrimp cocktail and it’s delicious! Lastly, call ahead as the wait time can range between 20 minutes and 2 hours. Yes, 2 hours.

Old go-to place for many years - love the consistency and service of the staff, and of the food. The BBQ pork ribs are great.

I’ve been coming here since I was little but it hasn’t gotten so much better as the years go by!! The change their menu to add more seafood dishes. There jumbo lump crab cakes are the best I’ve ever had. Staff is very friendly and nice

Visit this place to experience what decades of restaurant experience can deliver. This outlet of Houston's is like all others. Every last detail is well considered, perfectly satisfying. Houston's is an upper mid tier dining experience. Perfect for a couple or two. Not suitable for children, groups or those who are not looking for a nice evening out. (See dress code). The contemporary surroundings are tastefully lit and accented with sculpture and art. The menu is curated with a few well considered choices for each course. Flavors are distictly American. The wine list is domestic, California focused. The service is always outstanding, delivered by team of young professionals who all have pride in their work. The prices seem to match the urban experience delivered in a suburban setting.

Our waitress was amazing, she made several recommendations, her knowledge of the menu and her description of drinks and different dishes was very impressive. All of our meals were cooked to perfection. Most tender steak I've ever had. However, the bloody Mary was the worst I've ever had. Could not finish it.

This place never lets you down. Been coming here for years and it is well worth the wait and the price. Anything you eat will be amazing!

Now curbside pickup made our quarantine a happy Friday! We are ordering here once a week! The ribs! The chicken! We enjoy this place even at home. The best personnel. We should support this wonderful restaurant.

We are regular, weekly customer's at Houston's and they have absolutely no loyalty to their clients. We had a 10:30 reservation and arrived at 10:33 and they refused to seat us and sent us home. I have been to Houston's on numerous occasions and they would seat me a half hour to an hour after my reservation time! Houston's has gotten too big for their Britches. And they could care less about their loyal patrons. They just want to move people in and out at a rapid pace, their prices are inflated. Very disappointing. It is a corporate cafeteria. We will find another restaurant that appreciates our business.

The management is awesome and the servers are very good. The place and food is very good. I had the prime rib and it was very good.

I have been eating here on a regular basis for about 8 years. Everything on the menu is amazing, my personal suggestions is the spinach dip, and the 12oz fillet. Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time the dinning room is always busy.

Food and service were good. Wait was way to long. Prices are extremely high. Many other places in Bergen County to go for lunch/brunch that are better and more reasonably priced.

I'm not enjoying western food, but this place is my favorite for burgers and salads. Excellent taste and always kind serving.

Decent food and service, albeit at a relatively hefty price. Nice warm ambiance in the dining area, with an energetic vibe that doesn't preclude good business - and date night - conversations. The menu is limited, with a la carte annoyingly required on all entrees. Reservations absolutely recommended: for reasons we don't understand, there is always a wait at this curiously expensive venue.

I’ve come to Houston’s a couple of times. This place is AMAZING. The hosts are always super friendly. And hey, I know the wait can be crazy sometimes. But they always have smiles on their faces. They have reservation options to make in advance if you don’t want to wait. (But if you’re gonna be late, call and let them know so they don’t bump it). And if you are on the wait, they’ll text you when your table is ready.The wait staff is fantastic. They’re friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, helpful and professional.The drinks are tasty.It is a little pricey but their food is fantastic.10/10 would recommend this place!!

Food dictatorship. Packed to the gills no place to sit at the bar. Cool let me order some food to go. Sorry sir we don't do that. Why not we just don't do that. So no where to sit and I can't get food to go got it . Very accommodating. I won't be returning.

I have been to Houston’s many times over the years. What attracts me in this place is the relative simplicity of the menu, an almost cultish discipline in their service and food that is really acceptable. Obviously they are not perfect... How come the manager apologizes in case an order is not brought on time, even without a complaint from the customer? I also like the atmosphere, simple, relaxing with cozy pictures of homes at night with one or two lights on.. I enjoy their filet mignon, burgers, salads, spinach dip. And the wine. Small deserts selection but some great choices.

This place is so good. Can't wait to get back there. Ribs/Salmon/Hawaiian Rib Eye. Margarita was great. It's a great night out.

Potato purée is decent, the ribs are okay their chicken was terrible! Their chocolate cake is good.

Reservations, accommodated and seated promptly, especially for a Friday evening. Leo our waiter was wonderful, pleasant and friendly. Appetizer shared and dinner for 3. Smoked Salmon appetizer was amazing! Dinner..1 crab cake dinner and 2 Filet Mignon dinners with mashed potatoes and Swiss chard sides. ( we did not care for the chard salad side ). Unfortunately after I got home later in evening had GI issues. Unbeknownst to me in the morning I received a text from my daughter, asking if anyone else fell ill, (we were the two that had the fillet dinner.) overnight. I was just curious if anyone else Friday evening (January 31) who may have had the fillet dinner, with potatoes and Swiss chard, had stomach issues as well.Houston’s was notified of this issue.We have been here multiple times before, having a wonderful experience.

Located in the Shops at Riverside Mall, Houston's provides nice ambiance, excellent service and great food. A fire by the entrance, wood paneling, and dim lighting set the mood for a great dining experience. The grouper sandwich was huge and delicious and the spinach artichoke dip was tasty. The hot fudge sundae for dessert was massive. Houston's is perfect for a special occasion.

Had a very nice Christmas Eve dinner date with wifey. As usual, Houston’s didn’t disappoint! Started off with the sparkling champagnes and the spinach dip. Wifey had the special, which was a 14 oz rib-eye, and I had the ribs (was a bit oversauced but still enjoyed it very much). We finished with two scoops of vanilla ice cream. Will certainly come back!Additional info: if you like salads, Houston’s has delicious salads, which we have tried before. Sophia was excellent; she is friendly, sweet, and energetic. Highly recommend!

Exceptionally great food and great service every time we visit. I always get the Hawaiian rib eye and loaded potatoes it's so good. Although with me looking to cut red meat a bit I have grown to adore the crab cakes, so much lump meat I could only eat one. The atmosphere is very calm and grown up. I would absolutely return and maybe I will have the courage to try something different...

Best rotisserie chicken I ever had! Love the cocktails as well!
